Historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) have an important role in the African American community as schools that first gave black students the opportunity to obtain higher education when virtually no other colleges would.

The Malcolm Bernard HBCU College Fair is a non-profit, volunteer organization that partners with community and state agencies to introduce a multitude of students, eager to learn about higher education opportunities, to college admissions representatives from the campuses of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
